<image:caption>How long should my hair be for good waxing results? Your hair should be at least 1/4-inch to 1/2-inch for the best results. If your hair is naturally more coarse it should be closer to 1/2-inch for the first few sessions. After a few sessions your hair will become finer. It may take up to three waxing treatments to achieve smoother skin because hair grows in stages. For best results please avoid shaving between waxing appointments. That will interrupt the process and stimulate the hair growth again. How often should I get waxed? Regular waxing is paramount, every 4 weeks is recommended. After a few sessions your skin will become less sensitive, the hair follicles will have less a grip on the hair to be pulled and the hairs will come out more easily. After consistent waxing you may even experience less hair growth over time.</image:caption>

<image:caption>How can I prepare before my waxing session? Make sure the hair is the appropriate length between 1/4-inch to 1/2-inch. Please make sure that the area(s) to be waxed are clean. Please refrain from bathing immediately before the session. The warm water and soaking the hair will soften it causing it to break more easily and making waxing less effective. Certain medications such as Retin-A, Renova, and hydroquinone, oral acne medications such as Accutane, blood-thinning medications, as well as others may make you more sensitive to being waxed. Please check with your doctor if you notice skin sensitivity after the session. How long can I expect the results to last? A minimum of 1-2 weeks following your appointment, but the results will last longer the more consistently you get waxed. Are there any medications that may cause me to be sensitive to getting waxed? Retin A, Renova, or Accutane? Higher doses of vitamin A, salicylic acid, glycolic acid, benzyl peroxide, and a few more. Will I get ingrown hairs and what can I do about it? Waxing removes the entire hair including the root. It is still possible to get ingrown hairs. It is important to keep that area gently exfoliated. Use a gentle scrub in that area about 2 days after waxing and continue to exfoliate 1 to 2 times a week thereafter. You can help control ingrown hairs by making a mixture of tea tree and lavender oil. They are antimicrobial and antibacterial and can prevent irritation. By wearing loose-fitting clothes for a few days after the session it will give your skin a chance to breathe and reduce moisture. The lip, bikini and underarm areas are the most sensitive because we tend to perspire the most there. Moisture and perspiration may cause bacteria to grow. After the area has been waxed the follicle is open an more susceptible to bacterial growth. It is best to try and avoid heavy exercise that may increase chaffing and perspiration for about 2-3 days after the session. Can I shave between sessions? For best results, please don’t! It will result in a break in the hair growth cycle resulting in more hair at your next appointment. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to call, text or email me!</image:caption>
